The Philadelphia Fire Department: Idiocy In Action

What? Too brutal for a Sunday morning post?

You won't think so after you see this incredible video. You have to check it out HERE. I'll wait . . .

Okay, and we're back. So, let me get this straight:
  • Fire lieutenant literally saves woman's life.
  • Fire lieutenant literally saves woman's life by transporting her in an engine, instead of a Medic Unit: technically, a violation of departmental policy.
  • Fire lieutenant literally saves woman's life, and instead of being honored as a hero, is transferred (and may be disciplined) for the policy violation.
And I thought the Philadelphia Police Department was in deep, deep trouble. If Mayor Michael Nutter and Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers let this decision stand, they should be run out of town on a rail.
