E-Ring: The "E" Stands For Excruciating!

This politically correct nonsense is out of control.

It was bad enough last year when Keifer Sutherland constantly reminded us that not all Muslims were terrorists. And, as The Man pointed out, 24 is airing no such disclaimer about people from the Balkan republics.

Tonight, NBC's E-Ring - Garfield Ridge's favorite show about The Pentagon - is taking on an issue we see every day in today's world; radical CHRISTIANS taking a Detroit mosque hostage. Yeah, I know, this scenario is so cliche. Just last night I saw a story on Fox News about militant Catholics wearing explosive vests, kidnapping an al Jazeera journalist, and holding him for ransom.

I always knew this man couldn't be trusted . . .

  3. Shoot! My undercover status as a Evangelical Mutant Ninja has been blown! Darn those genious, informative liberals. They have all figured out. Now how am I going to cause "the end?" Now I'm going to have to return my Chinese stars and magic smoke.

  5. How many stories do we see about Christians killing abortion doctors and bombings at family planning clinics?

Not to mention a little thing called The Crusades?

Look, more people have been killed in the name of religion -- whatever its form -- than for any other "reason." Why turn it into a conservative/liberal thing?

  6. I don't get why we can't just be honest about this stuff instead of always having to be PC about everything.

I'm sorry but right now Islamic extremists have the corner on the terror market.

I actually agree with you about who the majority of terrorists seem to be right now. My original point still stands, though. Until mankind throws off the blinders of organized religion, this downward spiral shall continue.

"Religion is the opium of the masses."

  8. Sssteve - It's not necessarily that, but it's yet another bash at Christians in Hollywood when Islam gets a pass.

    Linda - Okilly-dokilly!

RT - You mean "Catholic stars." :)

CUG - It's the first "person" I thought of.

Anon - Those "Christians" deserve the death penalty. I don't remember making excuses for them.

The Crusades (which occurred about 1,000 years ago, compared to radical Islam's continuous murder over generations) were despicable, but comparitively, they were a drop in the bucket considering all of the violence spawned from Islam.

I never turned it into a liberal/conservative thing. My commenters did that. My point was the hypocrisy in Hollywood.

The Man - Thank you, Maude.

LMC - Agreed. The fact that radical Islam has decreed that all "unbelievers" will be destroyed seems to be lost on Hollywood. Like the 9/11 airliners would have been diverted if Sean Penn were in the WTC.

Anon - Buddhism and Hinduism are "organized." When is the last time some Asian monks blew up a train? When have you heard the Pope call for mass murder of "unbelievers?"

Sigh . . . . You're right -- you didn't turn this "into a liberal/conservative thing," nor did you make excuses for anyone killing anybody. I apologize for the confusion.

You're also right about Buddhism and Hinduism not being violent like most other religions.

As for the Pope, I seem to recall that Pius XII was rather silent during the Holocaust. Though, in his defense, I don't think he actively condoned what the Nazis were doing and he was far from the only one to not stand up against them . . . . anyway, I think we can all agree that we live in an f'ed up world that will never be as safe as we would like it to be, no?

  10. M - Agreed. And I'm sorry if it seemed like I was attacking you. I wasn't. Or, at least I wasn't trying to. If what I've read about Pius XII was true, his reign was not exactly Catholicism's finest hour. The flip side of that is John Paul II was marked for death by Hitler because he vigorously opposed the Nazis.
