As for Olympic hockey, well the Canadian women's team is kicking major international ass, as usual, and are expected to nabe the gold, as usual. I know it's a fact, Janet Gretzky told me it's a lock.
Whoohoo! My g-g-parents came from where Slovakia is now. I've never thought of myself as anything but American, but I can dig the Olde Country shining in the Olympic Spotlight. I wonder if they've got any cute figure skaters?
Sorry. The Region is the area of NW Indiana directly across from Chicago (Gary, as in Gary, Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, IndiANA! is part of The Region), and is heavily slavic.
Slovakia is 2-0 in Ice Hockey, after beating Latvia, 6-3!
