And I do care! If all goes well, Jimmie Johnson will win his first NASCAR Nextel Cup Championship later today at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Johnson is currently the leader, a mere 63 points ahead of Matt Kenseth. As long as he does one of the following, he’ll be the new champ:Finish 12th or better and lead no laps.
Finish 13th and lead at least one lap.
Finish 15th and lead the most laps.
In today’s bump and run NASCAR, none of the above will be an easy task. Hopefully, Jimmie is up to the challenge. And if Jeff Gordon or Dale Earnhardt, Jr, can’t win, I’d like to see the title go to Johnson. Start your engines!
