The BCS is a complete and utter fraud.
The #3 Florida Gators inexplicably jumped over the idle #2 Michigan Wolverines in the BCS standings, and will now get to face the Ohio State Buckeyes in the BCS title game.
Why, you ask?
Well, it's simple: because the SEC holds a championship game every year, giving the two top teams an extra game to play in their season. Florida and Michigan both have only one loss, but Florida played that extra (lame) game against Arkansas. BCS Championship = Florida. Nice.
The most troubling thing I have heard after today's announcement is that "the pollsters didn't want to give Michigan another chance at Ohio State." Are you frakkin' kidding me? If they are the two best teams in the nation - and I believe they are - they deserve a rematch. Hell, their previous game was arguably the best game of the entire season. But who would want to see a great title game? Not me.
It's bad enough that one of the worst teams in the country (Penn State) is playing in a bowl game on New Year's Day. Now, the BCS drops the ball in the title game matchup. Good job, kids.
College football needs a playoff system, post haste!
