Only In Pennsylvania

I gotta move.
ERIE, Pa. - The state has agreed to pay $35,000 to settle a lawsuit with a convicted murderer who alleged that state prison staff raped and assaulted her.

In a 1996 lawsuit, Lisa Michelle Lambert, 34, accused administrators at the State Correctional Institution at Cambridge Springs of doing nothing to prevent the assaults. She also alleged that she was videotaped during a strip search.

Lambert alleged that the assaults happened while she was serving her life sentence for the 1991 murder of 16-year-old Laurie Show, a Lancaster high school sophomore. (H/T - Yahoo!)
Let's all pity poor Lisa. Boo frakkin' hoo.

Do you know how Lisa Lambert murdered Laurie Show? She slit her throat. Do you know what that does to a victim? First, the victim does not die right away. She is usually conscious for a few moments, and is sometimes able to see the blood that is literally gushing through the wound. She panics while she begins to choke on her own blood, becomes unconscious, and dies. It's a terribly gruesome way to go.

A witness to the killing, Tabitha Buck, said this about the murder on a 1999 episode of 20/20:
"I said, "Oh my God, did you kill her?' She said, "I don't know.' ... She just kept cutting."
I won't go so far as to say Lisa Lambert deserved to be raped. No one deserves that. But, I will say this: sometimes karma is a bitch.
