CBS3/AP) PHILADELPHIA Sources have told CBS 3 that a suspect has confessed to fatally shooting two armored car guards servicing an ATM in Northeast Philadelphia on Thursday.

Maybe, just maybe, we caught a break. If so, you have to hand it to the PPD's Homicide Division for making short work of this thug.

A Northeast Philadelphia man who authorities say has a history of bank robberies was being questioned this afternoon as a "person of interest" in yesterday's robbery and killing of two armored truck guards at a Rhawnhurst shopping center.

The man - who was not identified by police - was arrested about 4 p.m. as he left an apartment complex in the 3800 block of Woodhaven Road, across from Franklin Mills Mall, and was getting into a white Pontiac automobile.

Police said he had rented the Pontiac and was ready to leave the area.

A car like the one used in the robbery - a late-model black Acura TL sedan that he had also leased - was nearby, covered by a tarpaulin. (H/T - The Philadelphia Inquirer)
