Just when I thought Michael Smerconish couldn't be any more idiotic, he proves me wrong once again. Yesterday, I was driving to work, and tuned in to Smerconish's program during Bill Bennett's commercial break. The Tool Extraordinaire was discussing Philadelphia Flyers forward Daniel Briere's recent commercial - which I posted HERE.Not surprisingly, Smerconish was ripping it.
Mr. Morality was giving his listeners yet another sermon on how the commercial is nothing more than petty vandalism, and sets a bad example for the utes of our country. When he asked the callers if he was a "fuddy duddy" - his moronic quote, not mine - most of them disagreed. Shocking!
And the only caller who disagreed with Smerconish was promptly cut off. Go figure.
Smerconish ended his segment pondering about what could have been. "Couldn't they show him shooting pucks into a bucket?" Yeah, Mike, that would set a better example for the children. Oh, won't somebody please think of the children!!???
Hey, jerkass, it's a friggin' commercial! Let some air out of your stuffed shirt. Even other lawyers think this guy's arse is puckered too tightly. The promo was an original, entertaining spot that was showing off Briere's shooting skills. Sure, Briere's actions could be perceived as vandalism to the most humorless amongst us, but who takes these things so literally? In Michael's world, the cover of Abbey Road is really a blatant example of jaywalking!
I can't see how this toad earns ratings, but apparently, he does. I guess that tells us a lot about the intellect of the people of the Delaware Valley.
Somebody stop them! They're breaking the law!
