Clinton: "I Saved Bono's Life"

What happened, Bill? Was Bono in desperate need for some marijuana and a teenage intern?
Former President Bill Clinton claims he once "saved the life" of U2 front man Bono - by giving the rocker a ride to an American football game.

The 61-year-old was campaigning in Chicago, Illinois, in 1992 when he met the Irish rockers - and allowed them to join his car going to the sporting event, according to New York gossip column PageSix. And Clinton maintains his generous actions proved to be a lifesaver for Bono.

He adds, "I saved them an hour, and we were friends for life. We were staying in the same hotel.

"Bono gave me a signed copy of poems by William Butler Yeats with a hilarious inscription from him that said, 'Bill, this guy wrote some good lyrics, too.'" (H/T - CBS3)
So, offering a rock star a ride is the equivalent of saving his life? God, he is such a pompous ass. Strangely enough, Clinton then took credit for a few more things. To wit:
  • Bill took credit for the Led Zeppelin reunion after buying Led Zeppelin IV.
  • Bill took credit for the Patriots undefeated season (so far) because he purchased a Pats t-shirt in the off-season.
  • Bill took credit for the Eva Longoria-Tony Parker wedding, because when Eva visited the White House, the Spurs game was on.
