Gene Hackman And His Wife Passed Away Today

Gene Hackman, his wife Betsy Awakawa and their dog were found dead in their residence. Foul play was not involved, but there is an active investigation by the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office.
Gene Hackman was one of the greatest actors I have ever seen. He was great in almost everything. The French Connection, Lex Luthor in Superman, Crimson Tide, No Way Out, The Firm, and Unforgiven.
The man was a giant, and he was a terrific actor. He passed away at the age of 95.
Thank you for everything, Gene. You were truly one of the best.

  1. My first thought was carbon monoxide poisoning. But I guess it wasn't.

UPDATE from NY Post: Gene Hackman’s wife found mummified and bloated by workers who hadn’t seen couple for two weeks:
"Fire department officials who responded to the scene reported finding no signs of a carbon monoxide leak or poisoning, according to the report."

  3. The wife killed him? If so I hope she rots in Hell.

  4. I'm late to the party here, but I read how his after acting gig was writing. I figure he probably was writing an expose on Hollyweird. (I made that up, but who knows?) Gene Hackman was one of my all time favorite actors. He played so many great characters - heroes, villains, cowboys, cops, you name it, he played it.

  5. You guys read all the crap released of late? His wife died a week before he did of some kind of rat disease or something weird and then they think he had an event during the week after her death. Sheesh, what terrible ways to go. I need to start telling my kids to check up on my wife and I more often. :-(
