A double murderer already convicted for two killings is now charged over two cold case homicides in Massachusetts, where a district attorney has branded Kevin J. Lino a serial killer.
Lino, 38, has now pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder, for the 2010 killing of 54-year-old Gary A. Melanson and the 2012 killing of 30-year-old Douglas Leon Clarke, the Boston Globe reported.
“Mr. Lino is a serial killer,” Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan told Boston 25 News. “The Department of Justice defines a serial killer as someone who has taken the life of two individuals in separate situations. In this case we have already convictions in two. We’ve now brought charges in two more.”
