I thought this would be annoying, because some people in out department think their shoes don't stink.
In fact, it was very easy. I had to write name a million times on papers, but otherwise it was fantastic.
I won't receive my first pension check until January, but we have been placing money away just in case we have a finance problem.
The Pensions will eventually come to us, and the deferred compansation is stuffed.
I loved it there when I was doing, but after this, I was ready to leave.
I am already looking for work, and a few people were looking at me. I can't just sit in the basement and do nothing.
Hearty Congratulations to you Wyatt. I look forward to your hopefully more frequent postings. There's nothing like the stories and opinions of someone who spent their time and energy on the front line in the trenches.
ReplyDeletePawn - I'm trying to get back into blogging. It's getting easier, but after being banned for two months, I'm trying my best.
DeleteHope you find a great place to work. I retired in 2011 and never looked back and have never gone to work since. For the next ten years, I just went on a LOT of adventures. It was great and I loved every minute. Well, except a couple of near death experiences. I'm now in the part of retirement where my lovely bride and I aren't exactly ready to do more adventuring. Enjoy your time, you only get one chance!
ReplyDeleteBeing an usher at the MET should be a good gig. Most of us are retired cops. Can't hurt to try.
DeleteWow, I just saw the total pageviews - 716,244. That's not too bad.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Sir! People on AoSHQ are already asking if / when you'll leave the Phila. area... - gdgm+
ReplyDeleteAs of right now, we're still in Philly. I'm in the good part of Philly, and my Mother-In-Law is still close to our house.
DeleteWell, you could always put your old uniform back on & become a str1pper...
