We Should "Bind" The Politicians

I'd respect them more if they said, "F**k the troops."

As I post this, our fearless, witless leaders in Congress are voting upon a "Non-binding resolution" which would give President Bush a vote of no confidence in Iraq. It will also look to stop Bush from sending 21,500 more troops into the fight.

Of course, just a few months ago, leading Democratic politicians were crying that there weren't enough troops in Iraq. So, Bush puts forth the additional 21,500 for approval, and now the Democrats (and some "Republicans" like Chuck Hagel) are saying that, "We can't change the outcome of Iraq by putting American troops in the middle of a civil war."

Bush can't win, and Congress can't make up its collective mind.

I find myself in the uncomfortable position of agreeing with Senator John McCain (RINO - AZ) who said of the resolution, "This is a vote of no confidence in both the mission and the troops."

He's right. Democrats and Republicans alike claim that they support the troops, but not their mission. Think about that for a second. It's an oxymoron. That would be akin to saying that I support Wyatt, but I don't believe in incarcerating prisoners. It's ludicrous! I would rather the Congress come down with an official statement saying, "Screw the troops." At least that would be genuine.

Oh, and while this idiotic debate is continuing, Iran is attacking American troops in Iraq. Something much bigger is coming down the pike, kids, and everyone is too preoccupied to see it.
