The Longest Day

British troops landing on Sword Beach, June 6th, 1944.

Sixty-three years ago, Allied Forces stormed the beaches of Normandy, France during the largest invasion in history. "D-Day" - the beginning of Operation Overlord - was the first step toward Allied victory, and a costly one at that. Approximately 2,400 servicemen died on Omaha Beach alone in only the first few hours.

We're losing our World War II veterans at an alarming rate today. If you know one of these outstanding individuals, please express your thanks. They certainly deserve it.
