Philadelphia's GOP: Incompetency In Action

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the current (sad) state of the Philadelphia Republican Party:
Three and a half.

That's how Al Taubenberger rates his chances, on a 1 to 10 scale, of being elected Philadelphia mayor in November.

It's a higher rating than what he gave himself before - and certainly higher than anyone else in this city probably would give him.

Don't get him wrong. Taubenberger hasn't gone off the deep end.

He may be the GOP nominee, but he's fully aware that it has been nearly 60 years since a Republican ruled City Hall. He knows the numbers are stacked against him, what with registered city Democrats outnumbering Republicans nearly 5-1.

Besides, he says, "I've got nothing to lose." (H/T - The Philadelphia Inquirer)
Except an election, right Al? Every single person involved in my local GOP - from the envelope stuffers to the Party Head - should be flushed out of the Party with a giant enema. The Democrats have proudly reigned for six decades, and what does the city have to show for it? Rampant voter fraud, skyrocketing taxes, and an outrageous homicide rate - currently lying at 177 corpses.

Frankly, someone - hell, anyone - outside the Democrat Party Politic should be able to take this election in a landslide! Just tell the voters what they already know: with the Dems in power, Philadelphia is not a good place in which to to live anymore. And with yet another Dem in City Hall, we'll just get much of the same.

Simple, right? If you're the Philadelphia Republican Party, I guess not.
