A Word About The Election

Emperor Misha has a great article about Mitt Romney and John McCain's recent verbal sparring match. The Emperor - like many Republican voters - cannot stand McCain and his RINO tendencies, and in the comments section, a terrific debate about McLame erupted. It got me thinking about all of the recent talk of people sitting out the general election if McCain is the nominee.

Even though I knew I would be soundly thrashed for it, I decided to add my two cents. Here is my exact comment:

I don’t want McLame to be the nominee by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s going to happen, since Romney couldn’t beat the corpse of FDR. So, where does that leave us? We either cast a vote for McAmnesty, The Hilldabeast, or IslamObama.

Personally, I would have to vote for the lesser of three evils: McLame.

That aside, I have an opinion as to why so many terrible candidates are running for POTUS anymore. It’s because no one in their right mind wants the job. Who wants some other toad dredging up every single skeleton in their closet, ripping them for what they did in elementary school, or plastering their kids on the front page of some liberal rag? No one. And that is why the choices suck arse.

A Philly talk radio host mentioned how some conservatives are abstaining from voting "to send a message to the RNC." How will that happen, exactly? The Party doesn’t select the candidates, the idiotic American voters do. And, for some reason, the idiot voters are throwing Hillary, Obama, and McLame to the front of the class.

What the Hell happened to this country?

Dennis Prager made a terrific point on his radio show today. He said that people should not vote for a candidate because they believe they are highly "electable." They should vote for a candidate that they think will do the best job.

For me, if it comes down to Clinton/Obama or McCain, I will be voting for McCain. I may not love the decision - or even like it - but McCain will be my choice for a couple of reasons:
  • He has more experience than both Clinton and Obama combined. POTUS should not be a learn-as-you-go position.
  • Clinton, in my opinion, is a liar, a cheat, and will say anything to get elected. Most politicians are, too, but Clinton tries to hide the fact that she's a typical politician.
  • Obama is so radical that he makes Hillary look like Rick Santorum. Obama is intelligent and a terrific speaker, but as POTUS, he would be a disaster.
Well, that's my plan, and I'm sticking to it. It's been a long time since we had an election where I didn't feel like I was voting for the lesser of two evils. That being said, I cannot in good conscience sit this election out simply because I am not fond of the candidates.

B.C., Imperial Torturer placed SYLG under the Department of Common Sense. I am just trying to live up to the moniker.
