Eliot Spitzer Linked To Prostitution Ring

Good to see Spitzer's wife by his side. How long til she divorces him?

Ya know, when you make a career out of nailing criminals to the wall, then pledge to bring ethics back to government, it's probably not the best idea to patronize prostitutes. I'm just sayin'.

ALBANY - Gov. Eliot Spitzer, who gained national prominence relentlessly pursuing Wall Street wrongdoing, has been caught on a federal wiretap arranging to meet with a high-priced prostitute at a Washington hotel last month, according to a law enforcement official and a person briefed on the investigation.

The wiretap captured a man identified as Client 9 on a telephone call confirming plans to have a woman travel from New York to Washington, where he had reserved a hotel room, according to an affidavit filed in federal court in Manhattan. The person briefed on the case and the law enforcement official identified Mr. Spitzer as Client 9.

Mr. Spitzer, a first term Democrat, today made a brief public appearance during which he apologized for his behavior, and described it as a “private matter.” He did not address his political future.

As he went to leave, three reporters called out, "Are you resigning? Are you resigning?", and Mr. Spitzer charged out of the room, slamming the door. (H/T - The New York Times)

Wow, what an arrogant ass. Spitzer, just like that idiot Larry Craig, should resign immediately for the good of the party, the voters, and the state. Craig didn't resign, and I don't think Spitzer will, either. Why? Because I think both of these tools think they can get away with it.

For the record, Spitzer said this during his inauguration:

"Every policy, every action and every decision we make in this administration will further two overarching objectives: We must transform our government so that it is as ethical and wise as all of New York, and we must rebuild our economy so that it is ready to compete on the global stage in the next century."

Jackass.
