Suspect Steals Philadelphia Police Cruiser

Ya know, when I'm looking to steal a car, I look for the most conspicuous one in the area - preferably one with lights and sirens.

A brief police chase involving a Tahoe SUV ended with a crash near the Ben Franklin Bridge where one suspect was taken into custody, but a second chapter to the story began when a passenger in the wrecked SUV got out and stole a Philadelphia police car.

Police say the chase began after the Tahoe SUV was spotted operating in an erratic manner near 3rd and Indiana. A short time later, the pursuit ended just north of the Ben Franklin Bridge when the Tahoe struck a utility pole. One suspect was taken into custody. He was not hurt. A number of drugs, a small quantity of ammunition and cash were confiscated -- then the next phase of the story began.

A passenger in the Tahoe fled and stole a nearby 25th district police car and headed to Camden where he was involved in an accident, and kept going. The suspect then abandoned the cruiser in East Camden’s Centennial Village. The suspect remains at large.

This story is sphincter-puckering enough, but the fact that the toad escaped after crashing the cruiser in CAMDEN, NEW JERSEY makes this story a little more embarrassing.
