Green Acres Is The Place To Be . . .

Two down, one to go.

Wedding number two in Wyatt's "Three Weddings in Eight Days Tour 2005" was the union between Mark Hogan (my coaching partner's son) and Sarah Krause. It was a shotgun wedding. No, Sarah isn't expecting, but there were so many hillbillies in the crowd, I'm sure some of them were packin'!

Sarah is from Pennsylvania Dutch country. As such, the reception was the polar opposite of Donna and Kevin's "city folk" celebration on Friday. For instance:
  • The new couple entered the ballroom in a very unique way: Sarah was sitting on a pull tractor (atop a bail of hay) while Mark pulled her in. Not to be outdone, the DJ played "She thinks my tractor's sexy." Very funny.
  • The music was a cornucopia of country. Kenny Chesney, Randy Travis, and a trough full o' Brad Paisley.
  • Speaking of troughs, I found out that it is a Pennsylvania Dutch (read: hillbilly) tradition that if the younger sibling gets married before the elder, the elder must dance in a pig trough. Really. Mark's brother Luke and Sarah's brother Jonathan both did just that. Really.
  • Towards the end of the reception, guests had to opportunity to dance with the bride or groom for a dollar . . . and a shot of booze. Yummy!

Mark and Sarah's wedding was one for the books, but I have to admit, we all had a terrific time!
