A Programming Note

Where is my sniper rifle when I need it?

Although I am totally against watching this crappy show, one or two of you may have a burning desire to see what kind of hovel in which your humble host resides. With that in mind, I feel it is my duty to inform you that the Philly version of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition will be aired on Sunday night, April 30th, on ABC. The home that is destroyed, and the surrounding abodes are exact replicas of my own, which is located only two blocks away (from the rear of the makeover house).

If you listen really close, you may even hear me yelling, "GET THE FRAK OUT OF MY NEIGHBORHOOD!"

  1. Neighborly, aren't you? Why didn't you ask them for the same kind of deal? he

TS will be on Sun nite, also. Decisions, decisions! Maybe the commercials won't be on at the same time!

  2. Let's review.....You're angry because the neighborhood was disrupted for a week to help some kids whose parents are DEAD!

C'mon now, how much of a problem did they really cause? I remember an email BEFORE they started work about how awesome it was to have them right around the corner.

    You should sue somebody.

Someone sounds a little bitter, eh?

  3. I used to love that show.
    I'm getting bored with it.
The wife has grown to hate it.
Ty is a poster child for Adderal.

  5. "GET THE FRAK OUT OF MY NEIGHBORHOOD!"

Why is it that I envisioned you doing this, only worse, before you did this post? :) Even though I enjoy some of the things they do, they are too extravagant. The house in my area is not maintained well because the family can't afford it. It's a shame. They could have helped 5 families with what they spent on this one. Instead one family got help and could lose what they got because they can't afford upkeep and electric bills.

  6. Wyatt, I'm sure it was a nusiance but I have to agree with Randal on this one. The kids parents are dead!
But again, this show has a little too much sugary, sloppy, pat myself on the back crap for my taste. Help the people then move on! And that interior decorator "Michael I'm Gay" the way he talks he is just asking for a pimp slap to the mouth!

  7. Lin - I don't want the same deal. I like my house the way it is. And I'm SURE you'll be watching Tommy Boy.

    Randal - 1. Correct.

    2. The prima donna who moved from his perfectly good home is telling ME about problems? And the e-mail was sent by Leanne. Ass.

    3. Maybe I will, Millhouse. Maybe I will.

BWH - Agreed. Ty definitely has ADHD.

Randal - Get bent. I fixed it.

SK - The real shame is that they went so overboard with it, the home of the elderly couple next door - who neither has the time or the funds to help upkeep their home - looks even worse!

Ssssteve - YOU are agreeing with Randal? The Apocalypse is upon us.

  8. 'prima donna' - Can't be jealous and not show it.

My neighbors were old, that's all. You didn't see me complaining that all of my neighbors smelled like mothballs, Ben Gay, and 5 lb. blocks of cheese.

Also, you'll notice that we conveniently moved further away from family beings. This way, the older son can go and hang up tiger pictures.

'The Wife' uses your email...so how do I know when you send my an email and when 'the wife' sends me an email? Is it yours if it smells like bacon? (Get it, bacon/cop...ha ha!)

    BONG!

  9. Ty is a "spokesman" on ADHD...he does have it...said so, no kidding. Now imagine three or four of him in one classroom and then times that by five classes. Yipee...the reason why I need ADD meds.

I have to get a good look at the man in this family. In the commercials he looks like (and has the same name as) a teacher I had in sixth grade a local Christian school...could be a brother, though. That would be the year the Phillies won the world series and I went to school with a player's children....we got to hear fun stories...see I have AD freakin' D!

  10. Ty said he saw a lot of brotherly love in Philly while he was there--missed you, didn't he?! hehe

I wonder how long it'll be before the boy's bed malfunctions and he'll have to sleep on the hard floor?

  11. Oh yes, I did watch big Tom and those won-der-ful long legs! Smiled for 2 hrs!
