The Longest Day

Sixty-two years ago today, Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy, France. It was the first volley in the liberation of Europe. Today, Coalition forces are working to secure Iraq, after liberating approximately 50 million people. Never forget what our armed forces did then, and what they do now.

  1. And if you want to know about some of the good things the soldiers are doing in Iraq, etc, go to milblogging.com and search some of the milblogs because the msm refuses to see the bigger picture. Some of the milbloggers write so well, it's like being with them when they go out on missions. I don't know where they find the courage to do what they have to but I'm very impressed. They work very long hours and make unbelieveable personal sacrifices. I love getting mail from a soldier to thank me for the simple act of sending a postcard, letter or package! They just want to be remembered and deservedly so. To me, they, along with cops, firemen and teachers are the backbone of America.

  2. Thank you , Wyatt...I think I saw about ten seconds on one news program even mention the real improtance of the day (now yesterday). They were all too wrapped up in a white donkey born with a brown cross on it, random acts of violence...that occur everyday, and other stupid bs.

Those men faced so much that day...more than my words can express. Thank you again, for paying attention to it.
