Spanked!

When your hockey team is in the midst of a losing streak, the only thing that can cure your depression is a nice, sucky opponent. Last night, we got one, in the form of The Pirhanas.

The Pihranas are at the bottom of the division, and the last time we checked the standings, they were still winless. It was a good thing, too, since we were really short on players. Note to Badger: check your damned e-mails! With the Badger unavailable, I had to suck it up and play defense with Fish. My first thought was, "If I play D, who is gonna keep an eye on Vinnie?"

The opposing defense certainly didn't do that; Vinnie had two goals and two assists.

The game started out poorly, as the Pirhanas scored on their first shot, ten seconds in. Most of us on the bench sighed, "Oh here we go." That was our only real scare, and we tied it up twenty seconds later. After that, the floodgates opened. Randal scored two and assisted on two more, Vinnie scored his two, Fish had a few assists, I had an assist on one of Randal's goals, the list went on and on . . .

Bottom line: we spanked this team by a score of 11-3, and get to play them again next Thursday.

Hear that, Badger? WE PLAY AGAIN NEXT THURSDAY!!!
