WE GOT HIM!!!!!

Our Homicide Division just arrested John Lewis in Miami!

Here are the details as we know them right now:

Two days after the shooting, John Lewis had the audacity to appear in court for an unrelated drug possession case. Knowing full well that he just murdered a police officer, Lewis still appeared in court, surrounded by fellow officers. We did not know at the time that he was Chuck's killer.

Chuck's service weapon was recovered yesterday in his Lewis' cousin's residence on Fairhill Street. During his questioning, the cousin admitted he helped get Lewis flee the city by driving him to a bus station, and Lewis escaped to Miami, Florida.

Lewis was holed up in a homeless shelter in the Miami area. Allegedly, a person in one of the adjoining beds recognized this piece of detritus from the news reports and made a telephone call. The Miami Police Department, supported by members of Philly's homicide division, entered the shelter and arrested Lewis inside. Despite his bravado and claims he would not be taken alive, Lewis surrendered without incident.

It is important to note that despite the strong feelings of everyone in the Philadelphia Police Department, Lewis was not injured in any way during the arrest.

I'd also like to again mention the Charles Cassidy Family Memorial Trust Fund. If you can, please donate what you can to Chuck's family in their time of need. You can help by mailing a check payable to:
